Virtual Career-Focused College Fair

April 23, 9am – 1pm

CapCAN invites all high school students to attend its 7th annual Launch Your Dream Career-Focused College Fair from 9am to 1pm. This is the first time this event will be completely virtual. Students, teachers, counselors and parents can join the event at https://heydays.io/events/capcan. 

During the event, students can explore over 30 different career and postsecondary institution “exhibit tiles”. Students will be able to attend Zoom seminars, chat or talk to someone live, and watch admissions or program videos to learn more. There will be information on apprenticeships, Historically Black College and Universities, military options, scholarships and financial aid.  There will be large and small, public and private colleges and universities so you can find your match and fit.  

Prior to the event, students are encouraged to explore career and college options using their Xello or Career Cruising accounts. These sites allow students to take a career inventory and learn more about the training required for those careers. This will be helpful information for students to know which colleges or programs to explore during the fair. If students have trouble logging into those accounts, they can also use O*NET Online and/or CollegeBoard’s BigFuture platform to do some exploring.
